Frequently Asked Questions

Questions & Answers

Everything you need to know about working with Elmar - how we engage, how we collaborate, and what to expect at each stage of a project.

Working Together

  • Who will be our primary contact during the project?

Peter Berry, Founder and Principal Consultant, personally oversees each engagement from start to finish. You will always have a named, senior contact - not a rotating account team. If specialist support is brought in for a specific area of work, Peter remains your central point of coordination.

  • How do you collaborate with our internal stakeholders during a project?

We work closely with the people in your business who are most relevant to the engagement - typically IT, HR, Legal, and senior management, depending on the scope. Collaboration happens through a combination of structured working sessions and regular check-ins, delivered via in-person meetings where practical, or Microsoft Teams and Zoom for remote working.

  • How much involvement is needed from our internal staff?

This depends on the nature of the project and your team's availability. We aim to minimise disruption to your day-to-day operations. During the initial gap assessment or scoping phase, we will identify exactly what internal input will be required, who needs to be involved, and when - so there are no surprises.

  • Can you provide references from previous or current clients?

Yes. We are happy to connect prospective clients with relevant references upon request. We will always seek prior consent from the reference before making any introduction, and we will match references to your sector or project type where possible.

  • How do you handle unexpected issues or disagreements during a project?

Our approach is transparent and solutions-focused. If an issue arises - whether a finding we didn't anticipate, a difference of interpretation, or a change in circumstances - we communicate it promptly and work collaboratively to find a proportionate resolution. We do not disappear when things get complicated.

  • Do you provide remote or on-site consultancy?

Primarily remote, which allows us to support clients efficiently across the UK without geography being a limiting factor. On-site working is available when it genuinely benefits the project - for example, during workshops, audits, or client-facing engagements - and this is agreed as part of the initial scoping conversation.

  • What should we prepare before our first call?

No extensive preparation is needed. It helps to have a brief overview of your business and what you are hoping to address - your current compliance or security concerns, any existing policies or procedures, and any audit findings or reports if they are available. We will take it from there and structure the conversation around what matters to you.
